The Millennium Man by W. Joseph Wyatt
In the novel, The Millennium Man, Wyatt makes use of a science fiction device, a Rip Van Winkle to the extreme. Renaissance genius Leonardo da Vinci awakes from a long sleep and finds himself in the State of West Virginia in the year 2001. As da Vinci discovers the marvelous advances in science and technology, he is perplexed that people continue to seek comfort and explanation in nonscience ways such as through astrologers, psychic hot lines and the like. As da Vinci discovers the science of behavior analysis, so does the reader.
Reviews:
I would not be surprised if Millennium Man turned out to be a sleeper in the way Walden Two was. But I rather think it deserves to take off like a rocket. I have adopted it as a text in behavior science courses. Stephen F. Ledoux, State University of NY, Canton
I think it's a wonderful concept, and very well executed. . . . The dialog worked well, the story moved along nicely, the characters seemed real. - Paul Chance, Seaford, Delaware
